Discus fish are beautiful freshwater aquarium fish that rival the most exotic marine fish.

The Discus, formerly known as the Pompadour fish, comes from the Amazon and its tributaries and has traveled a long way to grace our aquariums. The Discus has been bred to a rainbow of color varieties, ranging from the solid strong blue of the cobalt-blue (shown) to the bright yellow of the Golden Yellow and the crimson of the Red Melon, and is always a striking specimen even in its native reddish-brown striped hues. Pigeon Blood, Red Panda, White Diamond, and Brilliant Turquoise are just a few of the exotic strains available.

For many aquarium hobbyist, the Discus fish tank is the jewel of the Fish room.
